About Natasha
Graduating in 2010, Natasha has BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. In her final year, she specialised in Materials Chemistry with a focus on biomimicry — using nature as an advisor for smarter designs. In her research she studied the sea urchin spine, gaining an understanding of how their unique crystalline structure gives them a resistance to fracture higher than that of current man made ceramics. To complement her self study, she has recently completed a course in “How to Innovate Using Nature’s Strategies”, a course certified by the Green Business Certification Inc. Following graduation, Natasha worked for Deloitte and left to pursue a more creative path, creating the Fulfilment Manifesto with designer Darren Oorloff in 2012, a book which gained endorsements from successful British and American entrepreneurs and Harvard Business Review writer, James Allworth. In 2015 Natasha became Editor and Creative Director of the Startup Magazine where she used the design thinking methodology, to take the publication from 5,000 readers on the web only to 25,000 readers on web, mobile and tablet. Natasha was responsible evolving the content of the magazine, crafting marketing campaigns for companies, including Google, making the business of design a feature of the magazine, including contributions from pioneering designers Gadi Amit and Clemens Weisshaar.
In 2016, Natasha stepped down as Editor of the Startup Magazine to connect more fully with her love of design through starting Laboratory London, working with independent designers to create limited runs of luxury accessories. Natasha’s long term vision is to combine her business and science background with design to create new experiences in the luxury sector, contributing to creating a world in which people can enjoy the art, craftsmanship and memorable experiences synonymous with the luxury sector whilst contributing to evolving humanity and treasuring nature.
Over the past 6 years, Natasha has satisfied her love of teaching through privately mentoring Science to students between 13-18 years of age, helping them win places at Britain's leading private schools and fulfil their potential in their 13+, GCSE and A- Level exams.
